Taking time to enjoy the simple things in life will render “balance” in our lives. Not only will it help even out those times when we are in a rush to accomplish everything we feel we must do, but it will relieve some of the stress that comes with “Not enough hours in a day!”
Lao Tzu stated that “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” This means that with each day, we get closer to fulfilling our dreams and achieving our goals.
Professionals have learned to enjoy success when they find a rhythm in their swing, their step, their motion, and their timing.
Each day – every day – only happens once. Therefore, we should be encouraged to make the most of it.
We will never get it back.
This does not mean we should live life with reckless abandonment as if there is no tomorrow. And, although, I believe it is important to plan for the future, we should not obsess about it to the point where we are neglecting the present.
What really matters is the “Now.” Sometimes, we get so caught up in “wasting time,” “saving time,” and “controlling time,” that we don’t “take the time” to enjoy life completely.
I believe some of the things we should take time for are the following:
Time to think, as thoughts are a source of power.
Time to read, as this is the fountain of wisdom.
Time to work, as this is the price of success.
And lastly, time to dream, as this shows us that miracles are possible.
Take the time to enjoy life, to clear your mind, relax your body, and soothe your heart.
“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
