Be part of a closely interconnected community of key decision-makers, influencers and buyers, including mobility and logistics companies, other industry players and regulators. Increasingly heavy traffic, especially containers, requires a properly designed load capacity (maximum axle load). In order to avoid serious damage to road works and reduce maintenance costs, the Asian motorway network, as an international road network, should have a high design load capacity. The minimum design load of HS 20-44, the international standard for the full loading of trailers, should therefore be used for building occupancy. The planned network spans a total of 140,479 kilometers (87,290 miles). The AH1 route will run from Tokyo to the border with Bulgaria west of Istanbul and Edirne and will cross korea, China and other countries in Southeast, Central and South Asia. The corridor is expected to improve trade relations between East Asian countries, India and Russia. To complete the route, existing roads will be built and new roads will be built to connect the network. By 2007, $25 billion had been spent or pledged, and an additional $18 billion had been needed to extend and improve 26,000 km of highway.
 The Intergovernmental Agreement on the Asian Motorway Network (IGA) was adopted by the Intergovernmental Meeting on 18 November 2003. The IGA contains Annex I, which identifies 55 AH routes between 32 Member States for a total distance of approximately 140,000 km (87,500 miles), and Annex II “Classification and Design Standards”. During the 60 years. The IGA Treaty was signed by 23 countries at the ESCAP Commission meeting in Shanghai, China, in April 2004. By 2013, 29 countries had ratified the agreement.  The trilateral intergovernmental agreement was signed by the ministries of transport of China, Mongolia and Russia at the United Nations Ministerial Conference on Transport for Asia and the Pacific (UNCAP) held in Moscow. By removing barriers to transit and significantly reducing delivery times, the agreement will facilitate international road transport along the Asian motorway network. The lines of the Asian motorway network should be aligned with the classification and design standards described in Annex II to this Agreement. The Asian Highway Network will support 2 projects, one is the AH 45A and the other the new AH 45A. AH 45A is the new highway throughout Asia from Tonghua to Sana`a.
[Citation required] It provides a framework for the coordinated development of international highways in Asia and between Asia and Europe and provides a platform for Member States to discuss technical and institutional issues, improve the quality of the network and improve the efficiency of its operation. Sets of two- and three-digit numbers are assigned to indicate lines within subregions, including those connected to a neighbouring subregion, and motorway routes within Member States, as shown below: by mutual agreement, the parties to the dispute may agree in advance to accept the conciliator`s recommendation or simpler as binding. The project aims to make maximum use of the continent`s existing motorways in order to avoid the construction of newer motorways, except in cases where the absence of routes requires their construction. Project Monitor, an Asian infrastructure information site, commented that “the first beneficiaries of the Asian Highway project are planners within the national land transport department of the participating countries, as it helps them plan the cheapest and most efficient routes to promote domestic and international trade. Coastal areas, which are often negligible, are the other beneficiaries.  The Asian motorway network described in Annex I consists of motorway lines of international importance in Asia, including motorways that essentially cross more than one sub-region, motorways within sub-regions, including those connected to neighbouring sub-regions, and motorways within Member States. . . .
